Combined Authority Mayoral Elections - What are their economic profiles?
Wed 26 April 2017, 12:00 – 13:00 BST
On 4th May 2017, 6 Combined Authorities (Tees Valley, Peterborough & Cambridgeshire, West Midlands, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region and West of England) will be electing new Mayors to run their constituent areas. The ONS published a supplementary article to help provide more information on the economic profile of each area, titled “Combined Authority economic indicators” which was released on the 14th March 2017.
The presentation will cover the history and background of Devolution, the main findings of the article (challenges and aspects of where they’re performing well), media coverage and a quick run through the policies of each area’s main candidates. We encourage attendance to this event as a week after the presentation, the mayoral elections will begin and we feel you will leave better informed as many may not be aware of the current situation.
