About this event
Come Aboard and Learn a Shanty
New to shanty singing? Want to learn some shanties to join in the evening’s singing? Join us at 4:00pm for an informal workshop session with Harry Campbell of Scotland’s premier a cappella band Muldoon’s Picnic who are appearing in the evening concert. You’ll learn by ear in the comfort of your own home and we’ll send you the lyrics, not only the shanties for the workshop, but many of those you’ll hear that night so that you can sing along.
Harry Campbell is a singer and songleader based in Glasgow, with a special interest in folk and world music and harmony singing traditions. He sings and workshops with the five-part a cappella team Muldoon’s Picnic. Groups he leads include Glasgow’s world music choir Voicebeat, the men’s group Voicemale and Largs Community Choir.
