Overview

We are delighted to welcome 4 wonderful authors: - Alison Bruce, Alison Stockham, Finn Longman and Ann Sei Lin.

We are delighted to once again celebrate authors with new books out.

So Far we have:
- Alison Bruce is the author of 10 crime novels and two non-fiction titles. Because She Looked Away is the first in a new series, again set in Cambridge but this time featuring DCI Ronnie Blake and the DEAD team.
- Alison Stockham - Bestselling local author of psychological thrillers, Alison Stockham, introduces her latest novel Let Her Go
- Ann Sei Lin Ann Sei Lin is a writer and librarian with a love for all things fantasy. She loves worldbuilding more than anything. Especially diving into the details of the seemingly mundane. When not writing, she is often studying, gaming, or trying to make that origami rabbit for the one hundredth time. The first book in her debut trilogy, Rebel Skies, is a Ghibli-style Asian Fantasy book based on the Meiji era, full of origami magic, powerful shikigami, and sky cities. The Rebel Skies Trilogy 3 Books Collection Set By Ann Sei Lin(Rebel Skies, Rebel Fire, Rebel Dawn): Rebel.
- Finn Longman . I write a mixture of YA and Adult novels, and have been know to describe myself as ‘genrequeer’ due to my refusal to stay in any one category. My debut novel, The Butterfly Assassin, is a YA thriller about a traumatised teenage assassin trying (and failing) to live an ordinary life, and was published in May 2022 by Simon & Schuster UK. The sequel The Hummingbird Killer was published in May 2023, and the third book, Moth to a Flame, in May 2024. My first adult book, The Wolf and His King, is a literary fantasy retelling of the medieval lai ‘Bisclavret’, and will be published in 2025 by Gollancz, with two further standalone titles in 2026 and 2027.

The authors listed will be coming to share their stories, writing experiences and extracts from their latest book.

Alison Bruce is the author of 10 crime novels and two non-fiction titles. Her first novel, Cambridge Blue, was described by Publishers Weekly as an ‘assured debut’ and introduced both detective, DC Gary Goodhew, and her trademark Cambridge setting. She went on to write six further novels in the DC Goodhew series before writing two psychological thrillers I Did It for Us and The Moment Before Impact. Because She Looked Away is the first in a new series, again set in Cambridge but this time featuring DCI Ronnie Blake and the DEAD team. Alison herself lives just outside Cambridge and has been shortlisted twice for the CWA Dagger in the Library award.

Other local authors are welcome to come along and share their new books, do readings and be a part of this lovely evening.
