Our Autumn ‘come and sing’ event provides an exciting opportunity for music lovers to explore a wonderful selection of choruses from best-loved operas.
From the beautifully moving Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves from Verdi’s Nabucco, to the sumptuous Habanera from Bizet’s Carmen, there will be something for every taste.
We are delighted to welcome as our conductor Oliver Rundell, who works extensively with Opera North and Scottish Opera, as well as coaching opera students at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
We are also thrilled to be joined by students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and by international opera soloist, Frances McCafferty, a long-time supporter of Waverley Care and always a firm favourite at our ‘come and sing’ events.
The format for this 'come and sing' will be an all day rehearsal followed by a concert at 6pm. There will be a lunch break and an afternoon tea break during the rehearsal and a break between the rehearsal and the concert.
On the day rehearsal: Saturday 26th September from 11am - 5pm followed by a concert at 6pm.
Optional note-learning rehearsal: Sunday 20th September from 2.30pm - 5.30pm (NB – Sunday not Saturday)
Both rehearsals will take place in Wellington Church, 77 Southpark Avenue, Glasgow, G12 8LE.
Please note that no refunds will be given for bookings at a ‘come and sing’ event, except in the event of cancellation by Waverley Care. If you find that you are unable to attend, we are happy for you to pass your ticket to another singer, but please advise us of the change.
