Transmit Ceramics Studio will be running a 2 hour clay workshop at the Bhive this October

Making sounds with clay

Using traditional pottery techniques to make percussion instruments using clay, you will learn how to hand build an African clay ‘udu’ drum using the coiling technique, master the pinch pot ocarina or whistle. Younger children will have fun making animal shaped rattles inspired by ancient roman musical instruments.

All pieces will be decorated by you then taken away and bisque fired to harden the clay, then finished with a glaze before being returned the following week for collection from Arch 7/39 at Bowling Harbour.

Families welcome All children must be accompanied by an adult.

£5 per person
