Event description

Description

Zines are small books, pamphlets or magazines that you make yourself. Some people write zines to share their love of something - a hobby, fandom, band, type of food or a place. Sometimes people write zines to share knowledge - like a paper version of YouTube contouring tutorials. Sometimes people write zines to tell their story, especially if they feel different or like they don't see themselves reflected in magazines or TV. They can be filled with writings, drawings, photos, collages, whatever you like! You can keep them to yourself, share them with your friends, or share them with the world.

In this workshop with members of the Edinburgh Zine Library you'll get the chance to make your own zine to take home - with zines from the library for inspiration.

Edinburgh Zine Library is an archive and reference library of contemporary zines housed in the Art & Design Library at Edinburgh Central Library.
