Our next ‘come and sing’ is a unique and special event which takes place as part of the Just Festival (formerly the Festival of Spirituality & Peace).
On Saturday 10th August we are delighted to welcome our Patron, Bob Chilcott who will conduct a performance of his Requiem. Bob brings immense positivity and joy to the ‘come and sing’ experience and this is an event not to be missed!
We welcome back our good friend, Morley Whitehead as accompanist and we are also thrilled to be joined by Laurie Ashworth, soprano soloist from the 2012 recording of the Requiem and by Andrew Nunn, a gifted young tenor.
The timings of the event are a little different from our norm, with both morning and afternoon rehearsals and a concert starting at 5.30 pm.
Rehearsals: Singers’ rehearsals take place on Saturday 10th August from 11.30 am – 5.00 pm (with breaks for lunch and afternoon tea). An optional note learning rehearsal will take place at St Peter’s Church, Lutton Place on Sunday 28th July from 2 – 5 pm (NB Sunday not Saturday).
Singers’ tickets cost £18 (£15 concession) and this includes the loan of the Chilcott Requiem score. The score will also be available to purchase at a discounted price on the day.
