We're delighted to be able to offer our music-loving supporters a rare opportunity to sing John Rutter's Requiem, conducted by the composer himself. This will be the first time that John has ever conducted this piece in Edinburgh and we are thrilled that he has agreed to do so for us.
Part of Edinburgh's fast-growing Festival of Spirituality and Peace, the Rutter Requiem concert will take place at St Cuthbert's Church, Lothian Road on Saturday 13th August at 5.30pm (ends 6.30pm).
The Requiem will feature Susan Hamilton as our soprano soloist and the music is scored for organ and small orchestra. We are pleased to welcome Morley Whitehead as our organist.
The 'Come & Sing' chorus will also sing the Cantique de Jean Racine by Fauré.
Rehearsals: Singers' rehearsals take place from 10.30am - 4.30pm on 13th August, with an optional note learning rehearsal at St Peter's Church, Lutton Place, Edinburgh on Saturday 30th July from 2pm - 5pm.
Music: Scores for both pieces will be available to borrow, free of charge, at the note learning rehearsal or on the day of the concert. There will also be an opportunity to purchase the music at the event.
