Come to a South Devon "Friendly"
JUNE 12th 6.30-9.00 £3.00 including food (vegan-friendly) and drink
We live in divided times. Not only post-Brexit, with Leavers and Remainers at odds over issues we can barely articulate. But between Left and Right, rich and poor – and more recently between those who are up to speed with technology and those left behind.
Civil society – from those in social charities to political activists – work hard to create the conditions for change, but often find themselves isolated from each other, competing for funds and attention. Where is the space in which the community can come together, in all its diversity, and begin to generate some shared meaning and purpose?
How can our communities begin to face the future together?
The Alternative UK is a new platform for social-political activity that sees communities as the force for social change. If political parties divide us, citizens networks can bring us together.
Join the South Devon crew for a first "Friendly" gathering in Plymouth on June 12th, between 6.30 and 9 PM. Come and share some food and drink, a few creative ideas and good chat about how we can begin to come together to create a future we can all look forward to.
