STEVE ROYLE

Steve is an actor, writer, comedian, juggler, and a “Gillard Award” winning presenter on BBC Radio. As well as his own BBC series Comedy Shuffle, Steve can be seen on The Friday Night Project, Daves One Night Stand, Celebrity Juice, 8 out of 10 Cats and Spoons. He recently played Mike in the first series of the BBC3 sitcom Grown Ups.

Steve recently performed 16 nights at The Manchester Arena as part of the Phoenix Nights Live show, helping raise well over £5million in the process. Last year he also appeared at the London Palladium twice within a month when he performed as part of the TV show Sunday Night At The Palladium and as warm-up for One Night With Neil Diamond.

Steve’s TV credits include “Phoenix Nights”, “Max And Paddy’s Road To Nowhere”, “Peter Kay’s Britain’s Got The Pop Factor…”, “Stand-up Britain”, “Give Your Mate A Break”, “The Afternoon Show”, and “Talk Of The North”. He is also a favourite on the live circuit and a regular headline act at The Comedy Store.

He spent many years as “Special Guest” on Dave Spikey’s Tours and has supported several other top comedic names including Peter Kay, Mick Miller, Roy Walker and The Lancashire Hotpots.

He is also a regular television “warm-up” for programs such as “The Rob Brydon Show”, “A Question Of Sport”, “Mastermind” and has done over 150 episodes of “The Price is Right”.

Steve has appeared in pantomime every year for the last 18 seasons, 13 of them at The Blackpool Grand Theatre.

SASKIA PRESTON

Saskia has made a name for herself as an act who delivers up offbeat one liners and observations in a unique and playful style. A finalist in the Max Turner Comedy Award, Funny Women Award and Comedy Knights Fresh Comedian competition, Saskia was also shortlisted for the BBC New Comedy Award, broadcast on BBC Radio 4. More recently she was in the Laughing Horse New Comedian of the Year Final. Saskia's broadcasting career has also seen her write for Newsjack, The Now Show and The News Quiz on Radio 4.

Saskia has performed at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival every year since 2013, including in 2018, when she was selected for the prestigious AAA Stand Up showcase. She will return in 2019 for her debut full-length show. She has also performed internationally in Norway and Berkshire.

AZHRI BARRI

Half-Egyptian and half-Irish, Zahra blends her sweet and sincere personality with cutting and acute social and racial commentary.

She has already developed a distinct voice on radio and can be heard on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 4 & Radio 4 Extra, BBC Asian Network and Talk Radio.

As well as writing and performing comedy, she is also an actress, blogger, presenter and voice-over artist. She was a finalist in the BBC Norman Beaton Fellowship Award For Radio Drama.

You can find us on Farsley Town Street next to the Post Office.

The Constitutional is a members club, with events open to members and guests only. Membership costs £1 per year.

We advise that our comedy events are suitable for ages 15+ only. Acts may use strong language and explore mature themes.

Access - There are currently two small steps at the entrance to the club, which is on the ground floor of a historic building. We are currently in the process of purchasing a ramp to allow wheelchair access and will update this listing once it is in place. We have no hearing loop at this time. Guide dogs welcome.
