Event description

Description

The Comedy Depot is a community comedy Club which runs monthly at Zion, Bishopsworth Road, Bedminster Down. Each month we have at least 5 acts and the Comedy Depot is lovingly compered by UK Female Comedian of the year finalist and Glastonbury Festival Compere Angie Belcher. The show has fast gained a reputation as Bristol’s friendliest comedy club and is well liked by audiences and comedians alike.

Friendly, cosy, cheap and good for comedy, I am only one of those but The Comedy Depot is all of them.” Ian Cognito

There is also a full bar and snacks can be ordered to be served to your table throughout the night.

September’s line up includes:

Adam Beardsmore is a new comer from the West Midlands giving a disgruntled view on life and answer questions no one asked.

Bristol based Mum Louise Leigh brings well observed material about the dark side of parenting and navigating the choppy seas of middle age-“Imaginative, brilliant and ever-so-slightly risqué.” (The Scotsman)

Stephen” Big Bear” Dodd will be showing why he’s king of witty one liners with his trademark midlands cheekiness. “One of the circuit’s natural talents, the audience simply love him” Glen Gandy-Blue Giraffe Comedy.

Jake Baker has been impressing audiences up and down the country with his imaginative and original stories. Twice nominated for the BBC New Comedy Award this new comer is "not to be missed"- (Huffington post)

Chris Purchase is your headliner. Chris is currently taking the comedy scene by storm with his mix of light hearted anecdotes and cultural satire. After going viral last year Chris’ popularity has rocketed and you can now see him performing in all of the major UK comedy clubs. He has twice been nominated for What’s On magazine’s Best Comedian and was recently hand-picked to support Reginald D. Hunter on tour.

“Had the crowd roaring, lapped it up. Full of energy, loud, charismatic. Lovely.” (The Stand)

“Charismatic and entertaining” (Comedy Central) “Top stuff. Confident, funny and self deprecating” (Jack Whitehall)
