The Fire Table invites you to step away from the everyday and into the slower rhythm of life at Ash Croft (our Pygmy-scaled smallholding). Gather in the softly-lit shelter; a roofed, open-sided space with heating. The air is fresh, so wrap up warmly, but the food, drinks and atmosphere are full of comfort. Pygmy goats Joan and Dawn add their own gentle mischief, making sure no moment feels too serious as you blend fragrant spices into your own soothing tea and mix a hearty muesli for the goats and chickens. After sharing a lunch of smoked chicken flatbreads you’ll roll beeswax candles and arrange your small basket of comforts to take home. The afternoon closes with tea and cake, a gentle reminder that even in winter’s depths there is light to be found.
All dietary requirements can be catered for when mentioned at time of booking. Workshops take place within a sheltered space and will only be cancelled in the most extreme weather. Please dress with the elements in mind: sturdy footwear and practical layers are essential, for although Ash Croft is Pygmy-scaled it still knows big weather and plenty of mud. Each workshop is designed for just four guests, creating a private and unhurried pace, but private groups of up to six can be welcomed on request. Full terms and conditions and private booking information can be found at pyromaniacchef.com.
