Join EMMY-nominated writer Mike Garley this Halloween to develop your comic-making skills as part of this year’s Play on Words Festival. In this fun, beginner-friendly session, you’ll discover how characters and stories combine to bring your very own comic to life—whether that’s a Halloween themed ghoulish adventure, a funny animal story or something entirely your own! Perfect for 8–12-year-olds.

Mike Garley has written for Adventure Time, Wallace and Gromit, and Image Comics’ 24 Panels anthology, as well as creator-owned projects The Kill Screen, Samurai Slasher, and Our Final Halloween. He also lectures on Creative Writing for Brockenhurst College, and Scriptwriting for Film and TV at the Arts University Bournemouth and Bournemouth University.
