About the Course
Have you got a story that’s urgent? That you want to tell now? Do you have a great idea for a film, TV drama, radio drama or stage play? Over the course of six workshops you'll cover the principles of scriptwriting (ideas; plot, action, dialogue, how to create compelling characters) and you will write, discuss, share and receive friendly and constructive feedback to help you towards writing the first working draft of your script.

About the Tutor
Sharon Oakes has written for BBC TV (Doctors, Waterloo Road) and BBC Radio 4 including original afternoon drama, the Classic Series, the Fifteen Minute Drama and BBC Radio 3 Drama. She has had poetry published in small press like Mslexia, The North, Envoi and Wide Skirt.
Sharon also taught script writing (as an AL) at Sheffield Hallam University for seven years and is Co -Chair of Script Yorkshire, a voluntary organisation that supports writers and new writing in Yorkshire.
