The team behind the successful Survive The Yomp now bring you the legendary 9 mile speed march – The 9 Miler!
This is a great step in its own right and you'll be supported all the way by serving and former Commandos.
The original Commandos would do this march at speed carrying full kit but you can choose to run, hike or walk it and choose whether to carry “Commando Kit” (40lbs) or “Survival Kit” – whatever you choose you will discover a little of what it feels like to be a Commando!
Like all Commando Spirit events, this is as real and authentic it gets without actually signing up to the world’s most highly trained force.

Training & Safety
Commando 9 Miler is a physical and psychological challenge and we take your safety and enjoyment very seriously. We provide you with training videos on our YouTube channel and our regular training ideas on Twitter and Facebook.
Prior to the Commando 9 Miler, we hold a compulsory safety briefing. On the route, we have first aid and medical cover and ask that at all times you comply with the instructions of our staff team.
Commando 9 Miler is raising funds for the Commando Spirit Appeal. We think of the event as a dual challenge; to complete the Commando 9 Miler and raise life changing sums for those in need.
We ask all participants to set their own fundraising target and most people set their target at £500 or more.
Please remember that this is an endeavour target and also that you have until three months after the event to reach the target you set – we don’t send the boys round if you miss your target but we are miffed if you don’t give it your best shot. It is a fundraising challenge after all!
We are here to support you every step of the way – we can’t do the fundraising for you but we can give you ideas and advice from people who have raised serious sums of money in the past.
We will set up an EverydayHero page for you online and help you to personalise it.
Four of the questions we get asked most often are:
What time do I have to do the event in?
What weight do I have to carry?
What if I don’t think I can fundraise?
Do I enter as a team or an individual?
