Event description

Description

This is the first CPD event offered by the newly formed Central Dramatherapy Alumni Network (CDthAN). The event is open to graduates of the Drama and Movement Therapy training at Central, and members of the network ONLY.

Mitch Michelson is a free-lance director, teacher and performer. He has worked extensively at drama schools and universities in the UK. He is also a graduate of, and has previously taught on, the Drama and Movement Therapy training at RCSSD.

He has described the session by saying:

"Like all theatre, there will be an opening and a closing. The body will shape itself in the contours of the Commedia dell’ Arte, expanding and contracting dramatically through the Masks and their play. The form is rooted in the earth and is light as air. It has structure and freedom. There Is always movement. It is an art of childhood, moving swiftly from one situation to another and from one state to the next. It breaks free from the limitations of everyday behaviour to reach an imaginary dimension. It deals with urgency and survival. There is trickery and shadow work .The art -form will lead the transformations, playfully, inter- actively, through the stories of the body."

CPD certificates will be provided.
