Commedia dell’Arte for the 21st Century

Summer Workshops with Dr Chiara D’Anna

FOR ACTORS, STUDENTS, TEACHERS & PLAYFUL PEOPLE. BEGINNERS WELCOME!

Run by one of Commedia dell'Arte leading practitioners in the UK, this masterclass will offer you the opportunity to discover and expand skills that are fundamental in any performance setting: body and space awareness, physical stamina, a clear understanding of rhythm-tempo, comic timing and the ability to improvise with confidence.

The 'Commedia dell'Arte Workshops - Summer Season' are open to everybody!

The cost for each workshop is £30.


WHAT TO EXPECT:

Lots of fun, lots of sweat, lots of laughter.

Your willingness to play. A bottle of water.

WHAT TO WEAR:

Comfortable clothing suitable for physical activities.

We will meet 10minutes before the beginning of each workshop (i.e. 9.50am) at the reception of London Metropolitan University, Holloway campus. Tower Building, Holloway Road Campus. London Metropolitan University.

BIO
Dr Chiara D’Anna (PhD, MA, MSc) is an award-winning director, actor, lecturer and Commedia dell'Arte specialist with over 20 years of experience. She trained in Italy, Poland and the UK. Her work on the contemporaneity of Commedia dell'Arte culminated in her PhD "A Journey back Home: The Legacy of Commedia dell'Arte in Post-dramatic Theatre" at The Sir John Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design. She teaches and runs masterclasses on Commedia dell'Arte and Physical Theatre at RADA, East15 Acting School, Rose Bruford College, Goldsmiths University
and the Cass.
