About this event

We are holding two stakeholder events in Llandudno Junction and Cardiff focussing on the upcoming work of the CCC and the Welsh Government and the role of Wales' Wellbeing of Future Generations Act in tackling climate change.

Background

The Committee on Climate Change has launched a new Call for Evidence to inform its advice to the Welsh Government on Wales’ third Carbon Budget (2026-2030) and interim emissions targets for 2030 and 2040. This Call for Evidence will also inform the Committee’s advice to the UK Government on the Sixth Carbon Budget (2033-2037). These targets will set out a pathway to meet the UK’s new Net Zero emissions target in 2050.

Responses to the Call for Evidence will help to inform the Committee’s analysis over the next six months. We are seeking your views on:

  • Climate science and international circumstances
  • The path to the 2050 target
  • Delivering carbon budgets
  • Wales’ third carbon budget and interim emissions targets
  • Emissions reductions in key sectors of the UK economy

If you require a simultaneous Welsh language translation service, please email: communications@theccc.org.uk stating your language preference and which event you are attending (Cardiff or Llandudno Junction).

Read and respond to our Call for Evidence here.

Organised by

The Climate Change Committee (CCC) is an independent, statutory body established under the Climate Change Act 2008. Our purpose is to advise the UK and devolved governments on emissions targets and to report to Parliament on progress made in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and preparing for and adapting to the impacts of climate change.
