Who should attend:
This session is aimed at new or existing committee members and trustees who would like to know more about their role and responsibilities.Overview:
Committees and trustees have specific duties and share ultimate responsibility for how an organisation is managed and run. This introductory session will help both new and existing committee members and trustees focus on what they need to know to manage an organisation well. It is important to be fully aware of the legal implications and responsibilities if something should go wrong.
Topics covered:
• The role of a trustee or committee member• An overview of different legal structures for organisations• The different roles and skills required on a committee or board• Overview of a constitution• Charitable purposes and their importance• The mechanics of holding effective meetings
This accredited free training is supported by Shropshire Council and managed by the Shropshire Infrastructure Partnership Voluntary & Community Support Team. To support community groups, voluntarily organisations and volunteers within Shropshire. This course is part of a launch offer and we are offering two free places per organisation for courses held between March and May. Free spaces are limited and restricted to two places per organisation.
This training will be delivered via Zoom. Once you have successfully booked onto your chosen free course. You will be emailed a few days before the training date, to give you the meeting ID and password to join the session
We do offer a waiting list facility. So, if you are unable to attend, please could you let us know as soon as possible via email so we can then offer your free place to someone else.
