Common approach to Cyber/Digital crime in the Thames Valley
Tue 28 March 2017, 09:45 – 16:00 BST
In September 2016 the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner (OPCC) met with the Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) across the Thames Valley. Cyber / digital crime was discussed and points raised included:
There is a different approach needed for cyber enabled crime to cyber dependent crime
That CSPs feel their focus will remain on safeguarding vulnerable people and, thus, support and time to discuss is desired around dealing with grooming, CSE, fraud/scams, online radicalisation etc
Cyber / digital crime is a non-geographic issue and sharing of resources and expertise will relieve pressures on individual CSPs developing single local approaches
This a fully funded conference for professionals who are linked to Community Safety Partnerships within the Thames Valley. We hope to address the cyber / digital challenges and enable a joined up approach where resources and expertise can be shared.
We are pleased that the Police & Crime Commissioner, Anthony Stansfeld, will be in attendance and speaking in Session 2. There will be presentations, information packs and workshops to enable productive engagement.
