Please join us on the evening of Tuesday 19 April at NEF to hear Simon Parker discuss his recent book, Taking Power Back.
Simon is director of the New Local Government Network, and a leading commentator in public policy and public service reform. In his book he argues for “commonism”, a society based on social action, self-help and mutual aid and enabled by a more local, relational and supportive state.
We will be joined by Steve Reed OBE MP, Shadow Local Government Minister and former leader of Lambeth Council and Katie Ghose, Chief Executive of the Electoral Reform Society.
Simon will give an overview of the argument he develops in his book, including the problems that ‘commonism’ looks to solve, the challenges it faces and how it can be implemented. We also have a panel of speakers who will give their responses to Simon’s book followed by time for you to put forward your questions too.
