Communicating Across Cultures
Thu 20 October 2016, 09:30 – 16:30 BST
In this course we look at the impact of culture on communication in everyday life, particularly the rarely acknowledged informal cultural differences, how they create and add to conflict, and what we can do to communicate well.
You will discover:
* how culture affects the way we hear and process information
* how power is understood
* how social customs, perceptions of time and the law affect how we behave
* how decisions and agreements are reached
At the end of the day you will have a greater understanding of differences that cause conflict between you and others in your family, community and workplace, and have practical techniques to address them.
