This course explores the impact that good visual environments have on children’s speech, language and communication.

Communication for All is a course for practitioners who:

· Work in Early Years schools and settings

· Want to enhance the use of visual supports to develop speech, language and communication skills

· Want to learn some basic Makaton signing and how to use symbol resources

· Want to understand how physical environments impact on children’s attainment.


This fun and practical course aims to:

· teach participants a small number of useful Makaton signs.

· support practitioners to understand how to use signs and symbols in their settings.

· consider how physical environments impact on children’s communication skills.

· support practitioners to audit their environments and set actions to raise standards of practice.
