A programme for supervisors, managers and leaders who want to be understood, and become a clearer and more confident communicator to manage better people performance.

This course includes pre work evaluatiuon and diagnostic followed by a full day in person group based learning plus post course one to one support to activate and sustain change.

What's it all about?

In our busy world full of complexity, change, and challenge, managers often feel pressure to conduct their operational role whilst having to deal with people and processes that are unpredictable and inconsistent. Communication For Mile A Minute Managers recognises the need for simple and effective techniques that leaders and managers can easily use in their individual and team communication.

The Art & Science of a conversation is explored in this programme; conversations such as speaking up on a point of concern, offering constructive feedback, appraisals, disciplinary meetings and back to work interviews are assessed and rehearsed.

In this unique programme we'll take a fly on the wall look at how challenging conversations can be an opportunity to enagage and lead people performance. Through the use of specially created film and live drama, we'll explore the intricate nature of managing people performance. We'll take a close look at how people think, feel and act and consider how managers can adjust and change their communication approach to get the best results.

What to expect

Pre course preparation Online includes a simple diagnostic and self evaluation to provide insight to current skills and aptitude as an effective communicator.

On The Day - In Person

Part 1 - Understand

Your day begins with an introduction to current legislation and compliance. You'll get simple yet effective models to help structure conversations and to support effective communication in the most challenging of contexts. We will demonstrate creatively how subconscious use of language can lead to misunderstanding and we’ll consider how managers can communicate and connect with their teams even when time is tight.

Part 2 - Rehearse

As you develop your knowledge and appreciation of effective communication, you’ll have the chance to observe a case study brought to life through film and live drama. The case study will explore the subtleties and meaning of language on a cognitive and emotional level. You’ll be able to view conversations from different perspectives and interact with the story and its characters to practise skills in the safety of a fiction. You’ll be able to apply learning in a practical way.

Part 3 - Communicate

In the final part of the day you’ll be able to identify your own communication style and tendency. Reflecting your every day conversations, we’ll set up opportunity to practise delivering messages and assessing their effectiveness. You can identify which situations you'd like to explore, together we’ll create case studies and enable you to develop communication skills in a safe and supportive environment.

You’ll take away communication strategies that suit your style, a range of techniques including questioning styles that raise your performance and insight to the value of communication between individuals, across teams and throughout the organisation.

Post course, you'll be offered one to one support to activate strategies and skills in the workplace - we dont just leave yopu to get on with it, we support you to implemnent and sustain change.

Each full day programme is built to offer a significant step change in skills and behaviour whilst offering a value for money and practical solution for busy people and organisations. The Interact series offer a flexible approach to development in full day sessions, clients can choose a single day to leverage specific learning or select a series to target and achieve a range of outcomes. Each programme offers the chance to review current practise, build new skills and rehearse them in safe, fictional yet relevant settings.
