This course is designed to provide delegates with a platform to enhance confidence and develop your communication style to become more assertive. The course focuses on developing our knowledge and understanding of the different communication styles present in the workplace and provides a host of techniques that will enable you to become more assertive.
The course is for people who:
Are looking to improve their communication and interpersonal skills.
Want to become more confident in their communication style.
Aim to develop their assertiveness in different environments such as meetings and emails.
Want to deliver messages, instructions or requests in a more assertive and impactful manner.
Module 1:
Here we will explore and identify different communication types that we find in the workplace and how we can recognise these behaviours. We will move though the module reflecting on our own situations and identify times we have demonstrated or experienced these communication types. And finally, this module will help us gain a deeper understanding of what ‘assertiveness’ truly looks like and get us thinking about how we can utilise this knowledge to assist in developing our own, assertive, communication style.
Module 2:
In module two, we will further our understanding of assertiveness through communication models, where we can identify what ‘good’ communication looks like and how we can apply it to our more assertive self. We will then continue on to explore some of the techniques for being assertive (in the right way) which can further our ability to effectively communicate.
