Event description

Description

Facing a Climate Emergency we cannot rely on politicians or business to sort it. We have potential to make changes ourselves!

SCCAN invite you to a Skillshare for community-led initiatives: co-creating new strategies for a deeper, quicker transition to a Low Carbon, Resilient, Biodiverse Scotland.

9.30 registration for 10am - 5pm Saturday 2 March 2019
Room 3.24, St Leonard's Land, Holyrood Rd, Edinburgh EH8 8AQ.

Please book via: https://sccan2mar.eventbrite.co.uk and Share the Event: www.facebook.com/events/658421241239646/

The gathering is an opportunity to Tell Our Stories ... of innovation by skillful citizen groups using new strategies based on best practices globally! Using Open Space, we'll identify effective models for rapid change-making that people want to hear more about. These will form the topics for small-group think-and-do workshops after lunch.

The event is for all those eager to take action - from seasoned campaigners and activists to those newly engaged in Extinction Rebellion and Earth Strike. Share skills and make new contacts and lasting friendships.

Tina Clarke, Transition Trainer, will wrap up by sharing her experience of supporting grassroots initiatives in the United States, Canada and Europe.

On Sunday Transition Scotland offer a fuller Transition Network Training session where Tina will unpack a great bag of tools gathered over ten years for thriving Carbon Neutral Communities. Discount if attending both days. See https://ts3mar.eventbrite.co.uk You can offer / request overnight accommodation, travel and other help when booking.

Bio for Keynote Speaker:
Qualified as a Transition Trainer in 2008, Tina Clarke has worked with over 250 Transition communities, led 65 Transition weekend courses in U.S.A. and Canada, and given hundreds of Transition presentations - a trainer, program director and consultant for 30+ years, supporting leaders in 440 national, regional and local organisations.

Tina shares best practices of thinking and doing communities globally. She's worked with 350.org, Massachusetts Municipal Association, Sustainability Institute, ECOLISE, and Gaia Trust - for Transition Denmark.
