Almost all the activities are accessible on the day. Regretfully, the guided walks around the allotments and at South Hooe are not level and not well suited to strollers and rollers.

Yes! The day is free to attend for all - feel free to drop in and out when it suits you.

Yes, the activities throughout the day are suitable for visitors of all ages.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, dogs are welcome. Please note that dogs must be on leads if you are joining on the guided walk to South Hooe as this is a special site for wading and ground-nesting birds.

Yes - Bere Alston is well connected via both a bus service and a train station.

Where can I park?

Limited parking is available outside the Parish Hall, plus outside the Primary School. Otherwise, parking will be along the main roads in the village. Please park considerably and car share wherever possible to reduce your carbon footprint.

Is food and drink available?

Bere Alston has many food establishments and a small supermarket. Teas, coffees, squash and cake will be available for in the Parish Hall for a donation towards the Discovering Dormice project.

How do we attend sessions?

Please join us for the sessions at the venue mentioned in the agenda items above.

Booking is required for the Guided Walk around South Hooe due to limited parking. To book your spot on this walk, reserve your spot on the day before 12:30 at the Tamar Valley AONB table in the Parish Hall.

Is there first aid provision?

Yes, a first aider will be attending all the activities. There will also be first aid supplies in the Parish Hall if required. A defibrillator is available at Public Toilets, Station Road, Bere Alston, PL20 7EJ.

Many partner organisations and community groups will be attending such as the National Trust, Devon Wildlife Trust, Tamar and Tavy Apple Group, Devon Living Churchyards Project, Bere Alston in Bloom and many, many more.
