Description

Community Building Through Exploring Class

Would you like to deal more skilfully with social class and classism in your community, organisation or work place?
This 3-hour class workshop will support you to reflect on your own experience of class. Participants will also develop an awareness, knowledge and language of how class dynamics are perpetuated.

Social class is deep-rooted in Britain. As a system of oppression, classism assigns value to each of us and our communities based on our class positions. While the consequences of this are extensive and complex, they are made to seem normal and often ignored.

What to expect

This workshop will draw on the lived experiences of you and other participants in a way that empowers and connects our lives. Join me for an engaging exploration using interactive exercises and a mix of small and large groups.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is for individuals, social change groups, community groups, unions, NGO’s and organisation that want to become more class inclusive in a way that supports their values and goals.

The Facilitator

Mark Hamlin – www.wild-wood.org
My name is Mark, I was born in Edinburgh and brought up just outside the city within a working-class community. I have spent much of my life ignoring the impact of my class background. Now, exploring my working-class roots, I am developing a deeper sense of who I am, I believe by understanding and sharing how our class backgrounds have shaped us, we can organise and work more effectively within our communities and organisations. I am an advanced Process Work Diploma Student, independent facilitator and trainee psychotherapist.

Spaces are limited so please use the ticketing system to book your place
