Understanding safeguarding for community buildings
About this event
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. Hall management committees have a duty of care to all those that enter their building, including hirers, trustees, staff and volunteers.
This session offers an introduction to safeguarding for designated safeguarding leads, in order to help hall managers fulfil their safeguarding responsibilities. It will examine the types and signs of abuse, and consider appropriate policies and procedures that hall committees can put in place. There will be plenty of opportunities for questions and discussion.
This session will be led by Ade Murphy from Smart Communities who is a specialist in this subject and the training is supported by the Somerset Safeguarding Children’s Partnership.
Booking: This is a free event but registration is needed. The link will be sent to you after booking to join the Zoom webinar.
Session Notes: In order to admit attendees to the session, please arrive slightly before the session is due to start and we ask you to be patient while the trainers admit fellow attendees prior to starting.
