Sesame Organisation (previously known as EVR) is proud to announce the return of our annual flagship event, The Community Care Retreat 2025! This year we are collaborating with the Museum of the Home. Join us for a day dedicated to celebrating ESEA heritages and fostering strong mental health through a curated programme of workshops, a bustling market of ESEA-owned businesses, a delicious food offering, a thrilling selection of raffle prizes, and guaranteed good company - all at the beautiful Museum of the Home in London!

In the studio

12:00-14:00: Stop by Makan Malaysia’s catering table to claim your plate of food, included in every ticket

ALL DAY: Stroll through a bustling market and take your pick of the food, drink, desserts, crafts, trinkets, jewellery, clothing, home decor, stationery, ceramics, skincare, and more

ALL DAY: Take a seat and pick up a brush at Chong and Soh’s calligraphy station, then mosey on over to Xinyu’s nail bar to give your fingers a fresh new look.

In the garden

11:00-15:30: Enter our raffle for just £2 per entry. Winners announced at the end of the event!

ALL DAY: Four Winds Mahjong will be joining us to lead some teaching and free play. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or licensed pro, come prepared to challenge a friend

ALL DAY: A stunning playlist of ESEA tunes will form the perfect soundtrack for lots of mingling and meeting new friends

11:00-12:00: 12:30-14:00: Cook up a yummy sesame-themed storm with Lahpet’s head chef, Min!

12:30-14:00: Make your own bamboo woven fan with Yi Crafts!

14:45-15:30: Customise your own printed notebook with Kamipaper!

Getting Here: The Museum of the Home has two different entrances. One is opposite Hoxton Station and the other is via Kingsland Road. Please use the entrance via Kingsland Road. When you arrive at the Museum of the Home please check in at the reception desk. Someone from our team will be there to greet you and direct you to our space.
