About this event

Scottish Community Catch-Up Session 1: Getting to know you

Tl;dr: Join us the for the first session of three, leading up to a mini-conference for Community professionals, aficionados, enthusiasts, and sundry others! In session one, we’ll be taking the opportunity to get the ball rolling with introductions, break-out rooms, and discussion on the state of our sector.

What’s this all about?

Community is a vast and somewhat amorphous topic. As such we’re hoping to use these sessions- coupled with the mini-conference at the end of March, to explore the myriad aspects of this space, particularly through the lens of the Scottish tech & startup scene.

This is the initial session of three, where we can start delving into some of the topics, challenges, and opportunities that surround community.

The Community Roundtable 2020 Report, released last year, illustrates the substantial impact that active community management can have on many areas of a business or endeavour, but it’s still a profession very much in its infancy. It’s why we hope that gatherings like this can facilitate the sharing of knowledge and ideas which will make Scotland a world-class destination for community management.

Who is this for?

It might seem cheesy, but really and honestly anyone who is interested. There is perhaps a clearer through-line for those who are actively Community professionals, but we believe that anyone can benefit from further exploring these topics. Whether you’re looking to build a community around your product or organisation, build networks, or just engage with the wider ecosystem, broadening your understanding of community could have a great deal of benefit.
