Community Composting Course
Grow Green Scotland, in partnership with West Dunbartonshire Council Greenspace, will be hosting a Community Composting Course at Bellsmyre Community Gardens and The Knowetop Project— on Saturday 21 March 2026.
This practical, community-focused training is designed for community gardeners and allotment holders and outdoor educators from the WDC area who would like to learn about improving local soil health and compost production.
The workshop will explore how composting can build healthy soil, reduce waste, and strengthen local connections. Participants will learn everything from siting and managing a compost area to understanding key ingredients, troubleshooting common problems, and using finished compost effectively. The course also covers related topics such as green manures, leaf mould, and managing shared compost spaces safely and successfully and give you the confidence to turn your green waste into a thriving resource.
