Event description

Description

We aim to help turn your passion into a potential fundable not for profit business idea, our community connections program offers:

• A 6 week introduction to social enterprise program.

• 121 social enterprise mentoring sessions

• 121 coaching

NB: We have limited bursary 121 slots, so free places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

We do ask all bursary clients on booking, make a £20 donation to secure the 6 week programme. If bursary clients attend all 6 weeks(unless a minimum 48hr notice is given if unable to attend) then all bursary donations will be refunded on week 6.

We started this particular community connections program in June 2017, due to our founder and course facilitator, Clare Kennedy's own experience & difficulties setting up her own social enterprise and then eventually the amazing people and resources she found freely available in the community.

Since starting the program, we have had over 60 people attend, from which 11 not for profit social enterprises and a charity have emerged. Additionally, we have had over 36 volunteer professional business advisors help out on a weekly basis, some fantastic local business people who care about the community, some social entrepreneurs, people in active recovery who have set up their own local businesses and some previous attendees of our community connections and other Kennedy St programmes.

Do you want to be the next great social enterprise? Do you want to find out more about not for profit legal structures? What community resources are FREELY available and WHERE are these funding pots that are easily assessable once you have the know how? Who to turn to for support?

Please get in touch, setting up these type of community projects can be lonely and overwhelming but together everything is possible.

Places are already going quick, so book now to secure your place.

Kennedy St & Co CIC is a not for profit organisation that supports individuals wishing to embark on a journey of recovery & transformation, encouraging the wider community to look beyond stigma and restriction.

Founded by Coronation St legend, Kevin Kennedy (Curly Watts), and his wife, Clare, the couple have experienced the power of recovery first-hand, having both overcome their alcohol addictions almost twenty years ago. Clare, a recovery and wellbeing coach, works with both the private and public sector, offering her expertise to corporate businesses as well as to marginalised groups via their Recovery coaching, community connections and Nurture programs.

The Hove based social enterprise supports people in Recovery, inc family members, to become budding social entrepreneurs via their community connections program through the process of;

  • employability training
  • pre start up business planning
  • business mentoring
  • 121 recovery coaching
