Community Conversation event

Welcome to our Community Conversation event happening at the Bloom Building! Join us for a lively discussion together with local organisations, community leaders, faith groups and our food bank’s referral partners to discuss how the low rate of Universal Credit is driving hunger and hardship locally, and the urgent need for an Essentials Guarantee to ensure that everyone in our community can afford the essentials. We want to hear your insights from people you support who are struggling to afford the essentials and to discuss our national campaign about Universal Credit. Refreshments will be provided.

Frequently asked questions

Will there be refreshments?

Yes, teas, coffees, water and pastries will be provided including GF and Vegan.

Is this a political event?

No, we are talking about a campaign about a government policy which we would campaign for whoever the party. We are apolitical as a charity. We will be asking people to support our campaign as an individual who has relevant experience to the campaign not on behalf of an organisation.

Where can I park?

The Bloom Building doesn't have any parking itself but there is plenty around the area. You can park by the priory (which is just a few seconds around the corner), and also YESSS electrical car park will let you park in there.
