About this event

Join us on a Community Day!

In South London, local volunteers have transformed a disused area beside the railway into a peaceful, thriving community garden. With regular activites and events for both children and adults, Railside is very much enjoyed by those who visit. It is also an important source of support for the local homeless community.

Community Day's at Railside involve a range of garden maintenance tasks, depending on what is needed on the day. You might be planting fruits and vegetables, repairing planting beds, painting benches, amongst other as hoc tasks. This is an opportunity to get outside, meet some new people, and either put your gardening skills to good use, or learn something new about conservation.

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city, and join us in the oasis of calm that is Railside. In Railside's words, whether you are a green-fingered gardening expert or have never picked up a trowel, you are welcome!

If you would like to bring a young person along, please get in touch with georgia@handsonlondon.org.uk

This event is part of our ongoing conservation campaign, BrightenUp London, which you can read more about here:

Please wear suitable clothing and shoes for outdoor activites.
