Event description
The Life Changes Trust welcomes you to the 7th in a series of 14 Collaborative Learning Events across Scotland.

About this Event

The Life Changes Trust has been working in partnership with stakeholders from across Fife to design this free online Community and Dementia conference. We want to inform and inspire those attending by providing an opportunity to learn from initiatives and evidence from across Fife and support local areas to think more deeply about how communities can uphold the human rights of people with dementia and unpaid carers.

The Programme

We are delighted that the conference will be co-chaired by Gerry King and Irene Donaldson, both members of the STAND group (Striving Towards A New Day) in Fife.

The webinar will look at local, key priorities for people living with dementia and unpaid carers, developed from sessions held in the run-up to the webinar.

People with dementia, unpaid carers and the organisations who support them are invited to take part in these sessions, sharing with us their priorities and what matters to them.

The webinar will also feature local projects. Sessions will cover how to support digital inclusion, how to support people living with dementia to live in their own homes for longer, how local projects have adapted their support during COVID, and what support is currently available.

Speakers will include Paul Short, Housing Manager at Fife Council, Samantha MacDougall, Service Development Officer for Libraries at the Fife Cultural Trust ONFife, Ruth McCabe, Dementia Friendly Fife Project Manager at Fife Council and Janine Adair, Dementia Adviser for Fife, among others.

There will also be a Q&A session with a panel including:

  • Fiona McKay (Divisional General Manager at Fife Health & Social Care Partnership),
  • Helen Skinner (Dementia Nurse Consultant, NHS Fife),
  • John Cooper (Service Manager for Older People’s Services at Fife Council)
  • Dr Gary Stevenson (Consultant Psychiatrist, NHS Fife).

The webinar will be recorded and posted later on the Trust’s website and Facebook page.
