Event Details

Hello Community Farmers,

As a send off for 2017, our last Community Farmer Day will be an apple tree pruning workshop. Apple trees are best pruned every winter to encourage a good crop the following year. Trees that are not pruned become less productive and congested with old branches.

It will great to have you along; children are welcome too.

We'll get the soup and bread in for a yummy lunch and ask you folks bring some goodies along to share too.

Further information and exact minibus locations will be emailed out nearer the time.

'Must read' for first time Community Farmers

To comply with health and safety legislation it is important for us to have all attendees details logged onto our Mailchimp database in advance. You will only need to fill this in once. This information will be confidential and not used for any other purpose. Please click here to register on our database.

Any questions, please email me on

Travelling to the Farm

Due to a lack of uptake, we are unable to offer the minibus service any longer.

But don't worry, we have a vibrant and friendly lift-share solution!

You will receive an email from us one week before the event explaining how you can take part - either as a driver or a passenger.

No community farmer will be left behind.

See you soon :)

Community Farmer Days

Throughout the spring, summer and autumn we hold one-day volunteer events called Community Farmer Days. These involve volunteers coming to help out in the fields. While volunteers actively participate in the work of the farm these events are intended to be sociable and fun too.

The Community Farm is in a beautiful setting, overlooking Chew Valley Lake. Adults and (supervised) children are welcome. Normally we start at 10am and finish by 4pm (or a little earlier).

The Community Farm

The Community Farm supplies fresh organic fruit and vegetables to homes and businesses in and around Bristol, Bath and the Chew Valley. We are a community-focussed social enterprise – more than 500 local people share ownership of the farm and have a say in how it is run. We provide hands-on experience of organic farming through volunteering, school and group activities, workshops and special events.
