About this event
If ticket sales have ended and you still want to book a place, please email info@lcvs.org.uk.
This session complements the Fundraising Strategy course insofar as it explores Community Fundraising as a distinct income stream in addition to Trusts/Foundations fundraising.
It’s not only about income though! Community Fundraising is a great way to raise awareness of your mission, reach new audiences and engage with the local community - including local and national businesses – in meaningful, fun and impactful ways.
Community Fundraising also provides you with an opportunity to develop relationships with corporate supporters. Many employees are now allocated ‘volunteer days’ as part of their commitment to social value and are keen to volunteer their time and skills at events like the ones you will be organizing. We will explore the ways that this can lead to the development of additional income streams via corporate fundraising initiatives and sponsorships/ partnerships.
This course is designed to equip you with the skills required to plan, manage and develop your Community and Events programme in a scalable way that is proportionate to your budget and resources.
It will equip participants with the knowledge required to:
- Develop a cost-effective community and events fundraising plan and timeline
- Identify your audience and tailor your offering to their interests and priorities
- Plan for your event including risk assessments, council permissions, environmental impact and risk mitigation.
- Ensure your event complies with the Fundraising Regulator Code of Practice
- Create an engaging fundraising pack for supporters.
- Recruit, engage and build a rapport with event volunteers and participants including corporate volunteers
- Harness the support of local businesses and larger corporations by developing a case for support that connects to their social value priorities.
- Develop a ‘Gifts in Kind’ log to track non-financial contributions and those who donate their time or skills as a volunteer. We will discuss ways that you can maintain relationships with these donors to maximise the legacy of the event.
- Identify methods of Monitoring and Evaluating the event to ensure you build on successes and integrate lessons learned into your longer term events fundraising plan and timeline.
This course is ideal for anyone who wants to diversify their income stream by learning how to plan and manage events and community fundraising for their organisation.
