Event description

Description

As incredibly busy Community Fundraisers, we often neglect to spend the time thinking about our own personal development and future aspirations. Let us help!

We have two fantastic speakers to help us explore what you may need to progress in your future, what skills you might need to nab a promotion and what practical skills you can learn to ensure that you put your development first.
This interactive session will look at your skills, what you may need and what your career could look like whilst providing the practical tools to help you get there. Whether you are in a large/medium charity with a big personal development training pot, or a small charity with no training budget, you can leave this session with helpful tips and action plans. Please do come armed with questions for our expert speakers!

They are...

Gary Kernahan

Currently a consultant at THINK Consultancy Solutions, Gary has a wealth of experience in the third sector. From starting as Area Volunteer Manager and Regional Manager at Cancer Research UK for 4 years, to being Head of Regional Development and Supporter Care for the following 8 years at Muscular Dystrophy UK, he has amassed a broad range of skills and knowledge in senior positions, which he is willing to share!

Loretta Bresciani Murray

Loretta is also a consultant at THINK Consultancy Solutions. She started as the National Fundraising Manager for Action for Children, where she held the post for 6 years, before moving to Cancer Research UK in a variety of roles over 14 years, including being the Senior Learning Development Manager for 7 years. Her skillset and expertise in learning and development will complement this session perfectly.

Tea and coffee will be served at 10am, with our speakers starting at 10.30am. There will be a networking lunch afterwards at Pizza Punks, which all attendees are very welcome to come along to.

You can join the Scottish Community Fundraising Special Interest Group for £20 per annum (IoF members), £60 per annum (non-IoF members), after which, all SIG sessions and social events are free to attend.

Alternatively, you can pay for each session you attend (maximum of 2 per year): £5 (IoF members), £10 (non-IoF members).

Payment for attendance at the session or for SIG membership will be taken on the door. All IoF members should bring along their membership card or a note of their membership number.

Please send any questions about the event to: communityfundraisingsig@gmail.com.

We look forward to seeing you there!
