Community Gardening at Market Road Garden, Islington

Market Road Gardens is a beautiful but slightly neglected public park in Islington. We will spend the volunteer sessions planting bulbs, trees, and wildlife hedges, as well as sowing seeds, weeding, coppicing, pruning and weaving dead hedges for habitat.

If you enjoy being outside in nature, learning and sharing your gardening skills and meeting new people come along and join us. Sessions run from 10am to 12pm every Tuesday and Wednesday. We always finish the session with a hot drink & biscuits. Everyone is welcome, though under 16s must be with an adult.

We meet just inside the park in the central circular bed - you'll see our signs and us!

This autumn we'll be planting spring bulbs and native hedging, creating leaf mulch, pruning, weaving dead hedges and much more. We aim to make the park a haven for all, as well as creating lots of food and habitat for wildlife.
