Event description

Description

In the current environment, in which many Housing Associations are having to make difficult funding decisions, it is more important than ever that there are effective means of understanding the wider impact of activities and initiatives. However there are a wealth of different tools and approaches available to measure social value, meaning that it can be a difficult landscape for organisations to navigate.

The workshop aims to provide a platform for CHC members to analyse their current strategies on measuring social value and share good practice on social value. It will provide an overview of developments in strategy, policy and practice in Social Value, showcase examples of good practice and be a forum for discussion and learning and facilitate networking with other people interested in social value approaches.

The session will focus on:

- Why organisations need to evaluate their social impact

- What does value mean to housing associations?

- Overview of existing methodologies such as Social Return on Investment (SROI), HACT Wellbeing Valuation model, Local Multiplier 3, Results Based Accountability and the extent to which these relate to the key principles.

- Drawing on real life examples, the key principles of good social value measurement
