The Community Infrastructure Levy allows local authorities in England and Wales to raise funds from developers undertaking new building projects in their area. This money can then be used to fund a wide range of infrastructure that is needed as a result of development. This includes new or safer road schemes, flood defences, schools, hospitals and other health and social care facilities, park improvements, green spaces and leisure centres.
The purpose of this meeting will be to share information about the Community Infrastructure Levy (Section 106) and discuss how Brent's Voluntary Sector can get involved:
- About the CIL
- CIL and how it impacts residents
- Level of capacity knowledge required to support Neighbourhood forums
- How the voluntary sector could work with residents and the Council
