A taster session on community landownership for communities that are interested in buying land or buildings and anyone interested in community landownership. The session will cover: the basics of buying land and buildings from the private or public sector, how to fund this through the Scottish Land Fund, using the Community Right to Buy process and the benefits that owning land and buildings can bring to communities. Whether you want to buy land or buildings to develop affordable housing, look after your local woodland, grow food, improve community facilities, create jobs, generate renewable energy, or attract more tourists, this event is for you.
6.30pm to 6.45pm Tea and coffee
6.45pm to 7.45pm Speakers from: Community Land Scotland, the Scottish Land Fund, North West Mull Community Woodlands, the Scottish Government Community Right to Buy Team and the Community Ownership Support Service.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
The venue is five minutes walk from the train and bus stations in Galashiels and there is free parking in the large carpark off of the High Street after 5.30pm
