Event description

Description

Local Community Planning Partners are tasked with establishing a new Community Learning & Development Plan for 2018 - 2021 in relation to 'The Requirement for Community Learning and Development (Scotland) Regulations 2013)'.

CLD activity has a strong focus on early intervention, prevention and tackling inequalities.
Community Learning and Development is widely understood to include:

  • community development (building the capacity of communities to meet their own needs, engaging with and influencing decision makers)
  • youth work, family learning and other early intervention work with children, young people and families
  • community based adult learning, including adult Literacies and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
  • learning for vulnerable and disadvantaged groups in the community, for example, people with disabilities, care leavers or offenders;
  • volunteer development; and
  • learning support and guidance in the community.

CLD’s has a specific focus on improving the life chances of people of all ages through learning, personal development and active citizenship; and helping to build stronger, more resilient, and inclusive communites.

Thus far, key partners have worked to gain information (through surveys* and face to face meetings) on how our local individuals, and community groups, think our new plan should be shaped. This event is to build on those ideas, prioritise our key actions going forward, and discuss how we monitor our areas of work.

Anyone working within CLD, or an interest in their community is welcome.

* Not had your say? The survey remains open until Friday 20th April. Find it here.
