Event description

Description

The Thames foreshore in front of the Old Royal Naval College at Greenwich has some of the most vulnerable foreshore archaeology in London. Helen Johnston will explore the results of 20 years of archaeological investigations on the site, including the work of TDP’s Greenwich Foreshore Recording and Observation Group (FROG) members, which have increased our understanding of the archaeology of the foreshore from the Mesolithic Period through to the modern day, including the fascinating shorefront remains of the Tudor Greenwich Palace.

This lecture is part of a series of free community events run by the Thames Discovery Programme and supported by Tideway.

Refreshments will be available before the lecture and before questions. Doors will open at 6:30pm for a prompt 7pm start. The lecture and social will be held in King William Court at the University of Greenwich.
