Description

Community Mediation Skills (6 days: 30, 31 October, 1, 13, 14, 15 November 2019)

This highly-interactive 6-day course will enhance your interpersonal communication and give you confidence in both responding to and resolving conflict situations, whether they are at work or in your personal life. The course will give you a solid foundation as a mediator, enabling you to carry out fulfilling and valuable work in the community and/or build a personal practice as a mediator.

If you are interested in attending Calm's other training, let us know here and we will be in touch.

Skilled Mediator: Learn valuable skills to support your colleagues and/or community

We believe that because effects of conflict are so far-reaching, mediation skills can be a valuable contribution to both employment and community situations, improving the health, well-being and resilience of all individuals. This course will get you confident in using Calm Mediation’s framework and methods. Using these methods you will find that explaining the process, managing the mediation meeting and remaining impartial will be easy and will help you to get the right results for all parties involved.

Skilled Delegate fee is £595. This includes 6-day attendance, lunch and refreshments, printed course materials and practical assessment. You will receive an attendance certificate.

Accredited Mediator: Foundation for a career in mediation in just six days

Attend the entire course but build a further understanding by completing a further 11 hours of study within 2 months of the course to earn Accreditation. These written assignments, of 250 words each, will consolidate your learning and enhance the self-reflection of your practice. You will have covered the content during the course and additional reading will not be necessary. Delegates who pass both the practical and written elements will be awarded a mediation practitioner OCN accreditation, worth 6 credits at Level 3.

Accredited Mediator fee is £1,125. This includes everything mentioned in ‘Skilled Mediator’ plus all you need to achieve the Mediation Practitioner OCN Accreditation. You will receive a certificate from Open College Network to certify your accomplishment.

This course is open to anyone but places will be limited to 12 delegates to ensure quality teaching with plenty of opportunity for individual feedback.
