Event description

Description

Learn how to organise for change with Shelter and legendary US Organiser, Jonathan Lange - founder of the global Living Wage movement; Co-director of Saul Alinsky's Industrial Areas Foundation.

Shelter's Community Organising training sessions are designed to develop your leadership skills and grow your power to help end the national housing emergency.

Consisting mostly of short workshops, at our 1 day national leadership training sessions, we devote a half day to the analysis of each person’s self-interest.

So many community-based campaigns run into trouble because they allow campaign objectives to sideline the self–interest of participants.

Shelter's 1 day national training session seeks to reverse this tendency.

Linking leaders from all over Britain, our community organising training session puts relationships before action, deepening the commitment to the public good, while showing leaders how to avoid tension between public and private lives so they can achieve lasting change. We teach the rules and tools of effective organising, as used by professional organisers the world over.

Sharing experiences like this creates an intimate bond between people, and the trust that is necessary for transformative relationships. Learning the rules and tools of community organising in this way gives you the skills you'll need to change the world as it is into the world as it should be.

Our session will be led by a globally respected professional organiser, with many years experience of training, developing leaders, and running winning campaigns:

  • JONATHAN LANGE - IAF/FOUNDER, LIVING WAGE CAMPAIGN

Our training sessions sell out fast. Book now to guarantee your place.
