Description

Community Powered-Health:Supporting Better Outcomes for All Ages

Tuesday 23 October, 6-8pm
Committee Room 4, ground floor Tŷ Hywel, National Assembly for Wales, Cardiff, CF99 1NA
(Scroll down for the invitation in Welsh)

Loneliness and isolation are high-priority issues in Wales, reported to affect 1 in 5 adults* across the whole population. How can we work better with local communities to improve their capacity to tackle these issues and improve health outcomes for all ages? In doing so, how can we ensure that disadvantaged groups, including those in more rural areas or in more difficult economic circumstances, are not left behind?
*Samaritans Cymru 2017 survey

On 23 October, join award-winning timebanking social enterprise Tempo to explore how these challenges can be addressed through increasing participation in communities and building voluntary sector capacity and resilience. As part of the conversation, Tempo will be sharing examples of impact from its Active Ageing project, funded by the Welsh Government's Sustainable Social Services grant to connect older individuals across Wales with opportunities to contribute to their community and be recognised for their time.

Welsh Government Minister for Children & Social Services, Huw Irranca-Davies, will introduce the discussion and formally launch a public consultation on the issues of loneliness and social isolation in Wales.

Confirmed speakers:
  • Tempo CEO Ian Merrill
  • Claire O'Shea, Campaign Manager for Wales, Campaign to End Loneliness

Tempo is 10 years old this year! The event will mark the Wales launch of Tempo's new 5-year strategy and new name. Join the team for drinks and networking after the event discussion.

Iechyd wedi’i Bweru gan y Gymuned: Cefnogi Gwell Canlyniadau ar gyfer Pobl o Bob Oed

Nos Fawrth 23 Hydref, 6-8yh
Tŷ Hywel, Cynulliad Cenedlaethol Cymru, Caerdydd, CF99 1NA

Mae unigrwydd ac unigedd yn faterion o flaenoriaeth uchel yng Nghymru, ac adroddir eu bod yn effeithio ar 1 ym mhob 5 oedolyn* ar draws y boblogaeth gyfan. Sut gallwn ni weithio’n well gyda chymunedau lleol, er mwyn gwella eu gallu i fynd i’r afael â’r materion yma, a gwella canlyniadau iechyd i bobl o bob oed? Wrth wneud hynny, sut gallwn ni sicrhau nad yw grwpiau dan anfantais, gan gynnwys y rheiny mewn ardaloedd mwy gwledig neu mewn amgylchiadau economaidd mwy anodd, yn cael eu gadael ar ôl?
*Arolwg Samariaid Cymru 2017

Ar 23 Hydref, ymunwch â Spice, sef menter gymdeithasol bancio amser sydd wedi ennill gwobrau, i ganfod sut ellir mynd i’r afael â’r sialensiau yma, trwy gynyddu cyfranogi mewn cymunedau a meithrin gallu a chydnerthedd y sector gwirfoddol. Siaradwyr wedi’u cadarnhau:
