Welcome to the Community Prevent/Safeguarding Summit - Keeping our Communities Safe!

Join us at The Grange Interlink Centre for a morning filled with insightful discussions, speakers and networking opportunities. This in-person event aims to bring together community organisations and professionals to collaborate on strategies to prevent and safeguard our neighborhoods. What we will cover

Ensuring community & voluntary groups understand the risks around extremism and radicalisation in our society.

Giving advice and support to organisations about how to keep their users safe from the threat of extremism and radicalisation.

Details on what the Prevent Strategy is, how it works and positive examples of it working to protect all communities across Bradford.

  • 10:05am-10:35am - Presentation 1: Setting the Scene - The Importance of Safeguarding our Communities . Delivered by Kerrie-Lee Bar - Development Director, Voluntary Sector Alliance
  • 10:35am-11:10am - Presentation 2: Local Threat and Risk. Delivered by Angela Harvey Prevent, West Yorkshire Police

11.10am-11.25am - BREAK – Refreshments/Networking

  • 11:25am-12pm - Presentation 3: What is Prevent referral? How does it work and how can we identify someone who may benefit from some help and support? Examples of Prevent successes across our district. Delivered by Danielle King - Prevent Co-ordinator, CBMDC
  • 12pm-12:35pm - Presentation 4: Keeping our Premises/Centres Safe. Delivered by CTSA - Protect
  • 12:35pm-1pm - Presentation 5: Hate Crime in Bradford and how to become a Hate Crime Reporting Centre. Delivered by Halima Khan - Co-ordinator - Bradford Hate Crime Alliance
