About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

The way we produce and use energy needs to change. We need a lot more energy from renewable sources like wind and solar to meet the UK’s climate targets. At the same time, it’s difficult for many people to keep their homes warm in winter, even though it’s essential for health and wellbeing. Staying warm in winter is a basic right for everyone.

Community-led energy projects keep benefits local – from cheaper energy bills to investment in local facilities. When communities lead energy projects, they create solutions that work for everyone – tackling both climate change and rising energy costs

If you can't make the event but would like to receive a survey and information about the workshop outputs, please share your information in this short form and we'll be in touch after the workshop.

What is the workshop?

Low Carbon Gordano, North Somerset Council and The Centre for Sustainable Energy invite you to join this interactive workshop to share your thoughts on community energy in the area, getting your views as local people.

Low Carbon Gordano and North Somerset Council have partnered with the Centre for Sustainable Energy who will help deliver this workshop. This project is funded by the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme.

What will happen in the workshop?

It will explore how your community can play a role in the UK’s national efforts to take climate action – thinking about what renewable energy could happen in your area and how it could benefit your community.

The workshop is aimed at anyone who lives or works in the Weston, Locking & Hutton area. Everyone is welcome - if you have an opinion on community energy, we want to hear it, both for and against. You don’t need to know anything about energy as there will be information provided during the workshop.
